# Cinder code, runtime and content terms

Cinder is an independently authored two-course challenge using the developer-released original Abuse engine. It is not retail Abuse, a matching decompilation, an emulator or a clean-room certificate.

- Original engine source: Crack dot Com public-domain release, pinned videogamepreservation/abuse 01cce80eaf2ae82bafb9981162e205e42d0fae2f. Release text retains trademark and original data exclusions. No retail/shareware art, levels, scripts, font pixels or audio are shipped.
- Selected imlib GIF decoder: Steven A. Bennett1987 redistribution/inclusion permission requiring credit; Steve Wilhite credited separately. Full notice retained.
- Independently authored browser/storage/diagnostic adapters, generator/build/host code and native compatibility/offline/menu/save-namespace modifications: MIT. This grants no rights to the unmodified upstream or retail media beyond their own notices.
- Own glyph/font pixels, graphics, collapse/worker frames, labels/rules, maps and native-canvas screenshot: CC0-1.0. Content provenance is separate from code and dependency notices.
- Selected Emscripten runtime/JavaScript templates/preloader: MIT or NCSA with per-file notices; musl MIT and individual notices; LLVM libc++/libc++abi/compiler-rt Apache2.0 WITH LLVM exception; dlmalloc public-domain dedication. Full selected grants/individual notices are in NOTICE.txt.

The archive contains selected native source and independently authored build inputs; Emscripten6.0.10 is supplied externally. Restrictive Watcom source, original embedded-font source and the modern GPL SDL adapter are excluded. Exact source hashes, runtime members, emitted library symbols, template/preloader origins and payload hashes are recorded separately; neither a root license nor a binary checksum is an original-asset grant.
