About this build
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones built from the FireEmblemUniverse/fireemblem8u decompilation, pinned at ecc6798b. The build is byte-identical to a retail (USA, Australia) cartridge dump, sha1 c25b145e37456171ada4b0d440bf88a19f4d509f, and upstream's own progress script puts the project at 99.76% of code bytes and 99.78% of functions decompiled. The page runs the ROM on a direct WebAssembly build of mGBA's core — about 900 KB, with no emulator frontend in between. You supply your own ROM: it is read in your browser with the File API straight into the emulator's memory, and the page's Content Security Policy forbids every kind of network request, so there is nowhere for it to go.

What has been tested
Muted headless run: boot through the opening movie and title screen into the Prologue map, with a unit selected, moved and ended, all asserted from the game's own RAM. Cartridge-save validity across a real page reload, checked with FE8's own save checksums. No chapter completed.
Known limitations
- You must supply your own ROM; none is distributed.
- The (USA, Australia) dump only — European and Japanese builds are untested.
- Verified as far as the Prologue map: the first chapter loads, and a unit can be selected, moved and told to wait. No chapter has been completed, and nothing past the Prologue has been play-tested.
- Saving was verified by running the game's own save checksums over the data before and after a page reload. Nobody has yet chosen Continue on the title screen and landed back in a chapter — the Prologue tutorial disables Suspend, so the test never pressed SAVE itself.
- Sound is implemented but has never been listened to; all testing was muted.
- Keyboard and gamepad only; no on-screen touch controls.
- Tested in headless Chrome only, with software rendering.
- Link arena and trading are not available in the browser.
Saves
The cartridge save is mirrored into this browser's storage and restored automatically on reload, so in-game saves and suspends persist. There are also save-state buttons. Clearing site data removes everything, including the cached ROM.
