About this build
Wario Land 4 built from the TsilaAllaoui/warioland4 decompilation, pinned at bfbbb8f4. The build is byte-identical to a retail (USA, Europe) cartridge dump — sha1 b9fe05a8080e124b67bce6a623234ee3b518a2c1, md5 5fe47355a33e3fabec2a1607af88a404. The page runs it on a direct WebAssembly build of mGBA's core, 664 KB, with no emulator frontend in between. You supply your own ROM: it is read in your browser with the File API straight into the emulator's memory. The page is static files with no server component, and its Content-Security-Policy forbids any connection to another origin, so the ROM cannot leave the device.

What has been tested
Muted headless run: boot through the file-select and map screens into Hall of Hieroglyphs, with gameplay confirmed from the game's own gMainGameMode and gWarioData rather than from a screenshot. Cartridge-SRAM persistence across a real page reload, with the save detector validated against a deliberately broken control arm. No level completed and no in-game save reached.
Known limitations
- You must supply your own ROM; none is distributed.
- A matching build is not a finished decompilation: about a third of the ROM image is still copied verbatim out of your own ROM at build time, and much of the rest is machine-transcribed data tables. The project's own README calls itself work-in-progress.
- Verified only as far as moving and jumping in the first level, Hall of Hieroglyphs. No level was completed and nothing beyond the first level has been play-tested.
- Reaching an in-game save was not tested. Save persistence is verified at the cartridge-SRAM layer — the game's own save image survives a page reload byte-for-byte — but not by reloading a saved game.
- Sound is implemented but has never been listened to; all testing was muted.
- Keyboard and gamepad only; no on-screen touch controls, and the gamepad path is untested.
- Tested in headless Chrome only.
- US/EU version only; the Japanese ROM was not built or tested.
Saves
Wario Land 4 has a battery save. The cartridge SRAM is mirrored into this browser's storage and restored automatically on reload, keyed by the ROM's game code. There are also save-state buttons. Clearing site data removes everything, including the cached ROM.
