A classic, rebuilt
Open Skyways pairs a disassembly-derived SkyRoads engine with thirty independently authored roads and replacement menus, graphics, dashboard, HUD and geometric objects. It does not include Bluemoon’s original game data or music. Silent production browser testing completed Road 01 and restored its completion marker from an exported backup. The other roads and a full thirty-road campaign remain unverified.
What you need
No original SkyRoads files needed. The package contains its own roads, graphics and interface data, with audio disabled.
Controls & input
- Enter — leave the intro, choose Play, and select a road
- Up / Down — accelerate / brake
- Left / Right — steer
- Space — jump
- P — pause; Escape — return to the road menu
Saving your progress
Completing a road records a completion marker automatically in this browser. Use Export saves for a portable backup before clearing browser data; export/delete/import restoration passed the September 27 production test.
Browser data can be cleared by your browser or operating system. Export a backup from the player before clearing site data or moving devices. Private browsing may not retain saves.
Known limitations
- Thirty independent courses use minimalist replacement art. Only Road 01 has been observed through its completion gate; the full campaign remains unverified.
- Sound is permanently disabled in this build; audible playback has not been tested.
- A keyboard is required.
Source & assets
The engine and game data have separate licenses. A source release does not automatically make the original artwork, music, or levels freely redistributable.
