Supaplex

Murphy’s circuit-board puzzles, rebuilt in C from the original game’s disassembly.

A classic, rebuilt

OpenSupaplex preserves the original puzzle rules while translating reverse-engineered assembly into portable C. The source retains references to the original instructions, making its lineage different from a new engine designed only to resemble Supaplex. Upstream includes a WebAssembly Makefile, but that recipe still needs a working browser event loop, persistent player progress, and a tested save adapter here. Additional level packs are separate content, not separate games in this catalog.

What you need

Upstream includes original data and additional level packs. Their inclusion is not treated as blanket permission to host every asset; no game data is served by this entry.

This is a discovery entry. We do not currently provide a supported browser build. Follow the upstream project for its installation instructions and supported platforms.

Controls & input

  • Upstream documents directional movement and an action button; browser mappings are not yet tested.

Saving your progress

No hosted player yet. Keep backups of the upstream port’s save files before switching versions.

Known limitations

  • Directory entry: the upstream WebAssembly recipe is under investigation, not a verified player.
  • Source-code licensing and original game-data permissions are separate.
  • Audio, progress persistence, gamepad support, and level completion remain unverified.

Source & assets

The engine and game data have separate licenses. A source release does not automatically make the original artwork, music, or levels freely redistributable.
